In a perfect world, we could all learn to sew. Sewing is a skill for people of all ages, in all occupations, and from all walks of life. From making small repairs, to making complete wardrobes for yourself, or starting your own apparel business – sewing provides for our basic (and flamboyant!) clothing needs. In the workshops presented through INTERFORM Learn the students will gain knowledge about the basic tools, terms, and techniques of sewing. They develop their skills by completing some simple garments, then through advanced coursework they can pursue their craft all the way through designing and creating a collection of well finished garments. After our world was hit by Covid-19, we realized the value of sewing skills as the world was panicking to find enough masks for themselves and their loved ones . One of the lessons we have learnt from this pandemic is we shouldn’t let sewing die within our society, not only because it’s a fun hobby or a profession, but also because it is necessary in life.
