After the Spring Shows for NWA Fashion Week were cancelled due to COVID-19, organizers with the Arkansas Arts and Fashion Forum are calling on designers and others who can sew to help make surgical style masks for medical professionals. Arkansas Arts & Fashion Forum has been communicating with local health care providers – including clinics, hospitals and nursing homes to help provide resources needed as they continue to work on the front lines during the pandemic. “Our hope is to just to be able to put as many reusable, washable masks in the hands of professionals that we can.” “We’re encouraging anyone who had tightly woven cotton fabric, elastic and a sewing machine to just go ahead and get started. If you don’t have those things you can go ahead and pick them up from our office,” said Robin Atkinson, the President and CEO with AAFF. All masks will be delivered to medical professionals across Northwest Arkansas. The 2020 Fall Shows for Fashion Week will be held on October 23-24 at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville.
