Although 2020 may be a year full of cancellations, the NWA FASHION WEEK show must go on! While this year’s event will look very different from the live fashion shows of years past, NWA Fashion Week will continue to celebrate a love of local style in a safe and socially distanced event. This event, called RE-RUNWAY, is a set of three FREE experiential drive-in events scheduled for October 9th, 16th, and 23rd.

This drive-in (and socially distanced) viewing experience is a compilation of Spring 2019 – Fall 2019 past seasons of NWA Fashion Week designer runway shows, which will be projected larger than life onto the side of the new ARKANSAS ARTS & FASHION FORUM office at 214 South Main Street in downtown Springdale.

Below, we interview Katie Marquess, Marketing and Creative Director at NWA Fashion Week, to get the details on everything to expect for this event.

The Scout Guide Northwest Arkansas: What are you most excited about for Re-Runway?

Katie Marquess: We’re excited to bring joy to the community in a safe and socially distanced way and highlight downtown Springdale and our new office in the process. It’s nice to have a chance to engage with the community again, while highlighting fashion and local designers and talent, which is what we love to do!

TSG: These are showings of previously recorded NWA Fashion Week designer shows. What should attendees be looking for?

KM: What’s really exciting about Re-Runway and the concept of displaying previous seasons of NWAFW is having the ability to share the experience with those who weren’t able to attend, but also giving the volunteers, hair and makeup teams, designers, models and more the opportunity to see the runway as the audience does. That to us is something we’re excited to share and relive together.

TSG NWA: How can we get tickets?

KM: This is a FREE EVENT! No tickets needed! Events open at 6:30 pm with showtimes running from 7:00-8:30 pm. Viewing is located in the North Parking Lot at 214 South Main Street, Springdale, Arkansas 72764. Limited room for parked cars is available, and standing occupancy will be socially distanced. Face masks are required for entry (entrance is free!).

TSG NWA: Can you tell us any info about the food trucks and cocktails?

KM: We’re thrilled to have Springdale’s THE PITS MEATERY and FITZ’S SNOBALLS (October 16th), as well as BIKE RACK BREWING CO. joining us. You will be able to purchase LIVE FIRE BBQ from The Pits Meatery, shaved ice from Fitz’s Snoballs, and limited beer donated by Bike Rack Brewing Co. while enjoying the live soundtrack from DJ AFROSIA complimenting the pre-recorded virtual runway from the past.
